Admin rights

For the first 2-3 years after the platform is released, Openmeme staff will have full admin rights. The admins will have the final say on what memes are promoted from the Waiting section to the Main Page, and will choose the Meme of the Day, Month, and Year.

In 2024/2025, Openmeme will transform into a DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization). The entire company rules and mechanisms will be encoded into blockchain, and all future decisions will be done via the consensus of organization members (owners of OMC tokens). The more OMC tokens a user owns, the more say they will have in decisions.

The decision-making ability transferred to organization members with the DAO transformation will concern two kinds of decisions. First, there will be long-term plans and general direction of the service. Second, the day-to-day duties such as deciding what memes are promoted to the Main Page and awarding the Meme of the Day, Month, and Year awards.
