Platform
We believe that affordable transaction fees and speed are crucial for mass adoption and our success therefore, we plan to launch our platform on Polygon first.
To get rid of unnecessary friction and to make our UX exceptional we decided that there won’t be any fees while minting, auctioning, and trading memes on our platform.
To achieve this, we will use techniques like lazy minting and meta transactions to cover the cost of transactions for our users. On top of that, we are still watching closely progress in the field of scalability in the Ethereum ecosystem and when a sensible alternative emerges, we will act accordingly.
OpenMeme platform will support both ERC-721 and ERC-1155 standards for NFT development and IPFS for distributed storage of assets like images and metadata.
OpenMeme platform consist of several interconnected parts:
Frontend layer – a responsive web application that facilitates all user activities on the platform
Backend layer – responsible for integrations and storage of community-driven content (comments, votes, rankings, etc)
Smart contracts – responsible for maintaining ownership of memes, facilitating trading, providing OMC utility token, and ensuring liquidity on decentralized exchanges. After transitioning to DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) it will be responsible also for the governance over the platform
IPFS – decentralized storage for all meme-related assets- ensures availability of data independent from OpenMeme platform itself
