Waiting and Main memes

Openmeme uses the proven Waiting (New) and Main Page structure. When a new meme is uploaded, it automatically goes to the Waiting list, where users can vote on it. After the meme receives a certain number of votes, it’s promoted to the Main Page, where it’s seen by a much higher number of visitors.

Web 3.0 elements give this function much more weight than it normally has on Web 2.0 platforms. Since NFT memes have a monetary value, voting on it and promoting it to the Main Page (or rejecting it, making it essentially disappear in Waiting) also means that the users decide on its value. The more popular the meme becomes, the more valuable it gets.

On Openmene, voting is also a much more deliberate act, because only those who own tokens are allowed to do it and need to spend some of the token in the process. This means that upvoting a meme is not only a statement that the user likes it, but can also be seen as an investment, with real value attached to it.
